Elsa Update: Week 03

What a difference radiation therapy has been making! Elsa came home with so much energy and her healthy appetite is holding strong. One of the more heartbreaking symptoms of Elsa’s illness has been her muscle loss that has made her mobility extremely limited and very hard to watch. Well this weekend she came home and walked over to everyone to say hello and has been popping up out of bed easily to get her treats and wake up wraps from @dunkin! She is gaining strength slowly but surely. Her personality and interest in the world around her has also come back,so much so, that she stuck her head in every entrance to the groundhog den under our shed and no doubt will be chasing those guys around the back yard in no time! Her treatment has been exactly as the doctors have described with the “dimmer switch” slowly being turned on and her becoming brighter with every week that has passed. We love having Elsa home, but are excited to drop her for her last week of treatment so we can focus on living life and making up for lost time. We can’t say enough about the kindness and care the oncology team at @mspca.angell have shown us and Elsa has been winning their hearts with each passing day.
